This past Sunday, the Mommies and Daughters of TMG had an afternoon tea. Each girl brought her favorite doll, wore "tea appropriate" attire, ate tea cakes and petite sandwiches, painted pottery, made jewelry, and danced. It was about as sweet as can be!

Food Fest 2011
The first and hopefully annual "Food Fest" was held last meeting. It was so much fun! Everyone brought their favorite gadget/trick, recipe, and dish! We feasted until it was hard to breath (at least for me) and then the group made an apple crisp to take home.
All of the recipes were compiled (thanks Stacy) and we all got a copy of what we tasted. Next year we are going to bring take home dishes so supper will already be done!

Wedding Quiche
If you were lucky to eat at last meeting, you probably had a good helping of Stacy's crustless quiche. It was so good! I know my family loves to eat quiche and I love to make it. So simple and yummy!
"Wedding Brunch Quiche"
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 C butter
1/2 C flour
6 large eggs, beaten
1 C milk
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 tsp sugar 2 C cottage cheese
8 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
3 oz cream cheese, cut into chunks
diced ham (optional)
sliced mushrooms (optional) (I also add other vegetables and
adjust the cooking time as needed.)
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a heavy pan. Stir in
flour gradually and whisk until smooth. Cook for 1-2 minutes at a
gentle boil. Remove from heat and stir in milk until smooth; set
aside. In a large bowl, combine beaten eggs, salt, sugar & baking
powder. Slowly add the milk mixture, stirring with a whisk. Blend
well. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Pour mixture into
9x13 pan. Bake 45 min - 1 hour, or until firm.

First Meeting of the Year
Thank you ladies for such a great first meeting! It was wonderful to see some new faces and returning ones as well.
Our meeting consisted of the usual first meeting announcements, registration and planning for fall. Lots of fellowship, delicious food and catching up with one another.
Our next meeting is Sept. 15 and is a FOOD Fest so put on your chef hats! Let’s help each other gather some new ideas and inspiration as we cook for our families. Bring a favorite dish for everyone to sample at the meeting. Please send the recipe to Stacy (stacyandjohn@gmail.com). She will compile them and send them back out to everyone. Please, also bring any cooking and meal preparation tips or “can’t live without” kitchen gadgets to share with the group. We will also prepare a yummy apple crisp for you to take home to either bake that day or freeze for later. Please bring a cutting board and knife to cut your apples. It will be a busy meeting but lots of fun and everyone should go away with some usable ideas and inspiration!
